Such a hard day

We knew we would have to send Caleb back with his foster mom (Rosa), but didn't know it would be as hard as it was. We were all very sad last night, as the minutes ticked away, and the time to give Caleb back drew near. He fell asleep right before we were suppose to meet her. We gathered all of his things, and took the elevator down to meet her, as she had called to let us know she had arrived. Her mother was with her, and they smiled really big when they saw us coming. We hugged them, and handed them Caleb's things. I held tight to Caleb as we communicated, without a translator. Finally, one of the hotel staff translated a little for us. Rosa's mom said "You know, We love him too." And, I told her we knew that, and that we could tell they loved him. Hannah was very sad, and began to cry as I handed Caleb to Rosa. It was diffucult to say the least, but It's because we know they love Caleb, that we were able to feel good about it.

We came back to our room with an empty baby crib, and had a good cry. We are so thankful we were able to spend this wonderful time with Caleb, and we look forward to the day we can bring him home to be a part of our family, forever.

Good Morning dear family...our love and prayers are w/you all during this hard part of the whole adoption. It is our prayer that we will have an early Christmas present in our arms soon!

I am reminded...as usual ;-)...of God's love for us. We are the 'adopted' children in His Kingdom, and now you know how much He loves each one of us!

Little Caleb does not even realize how much you love him at this point...and so it is with our Heavenly Father...we do not realize how very much He loves us...and how very sad He is when we leave Him.

So we take this time to turn the 'ashes of saddness' into a 'garland ... and mantle of praise'! Isaiah 61:3 We will focus on praising our Lord for His love to us and that He allows us to share that love with others...for one, Caleb...

Have a safe journey home, dear ones...and we will look forward to seeing you soon! Love, MOM/gma Maslin

Dear Sabra, Bus, Hannah, and Caleb, I thought about you so much while I was on my vacation to Indiana. Not nearly the adventure and deep meaning of your trip. The pictures are fantastic. You already have some unforgetable gems. Have a safe, safe trip back home today. Can't wait for the further updates and of Caleb's arrival to his new home. Susan Swieterman.

Dear Bus, Sabra, and Hannah,
I can only imagine the emptiness you must feel at this hour, whether you are in flight or already home. My love and prayers are yours. I pray that the wait for Caleb to come home forever is very short, and take comfort that his foster family adores him as much as you all do. What a blessing it is for a child to know this much love and protection in his short life thus far. We send you lots of support, and hope that the holiday season will offer some distraction to this waiting period.
Hope to hear from you very soon.
Love, Krista
