BBBBRRRRrrrr....what happened to our warm weather??!!??!

Well, it has been crazy here! A crazy ice/winter storm came through early Tuesday, and it has been crazy since! We lost our power to our house Tuesday about 1:30-2:00pm! So, after gathering our goodies, we moved to Bus' Mom & Dad's, where the electricity was still going!! We settled in, and had a pretty good time-as it was nice and toasty!!(Thanks Mom & Dad!)

Well, their electricity went out about 4:00am-I think(couldn't see the clock in the dark), and we decided to head home to use our fireplace for warmth!! Way too cold!!!!! So, off to Lexington, where we settled into the Embassy Suites in a room next to his Grandma & Aunt, who also lost their electricity!! I am currently typing this post from the E.S.! We are toasty, and warm, and I am getting ready to head to bed-but, wanted to take a second to post a couple of pictures of the craziness we have experiencing!

Stay safe, and stay warm!

:O) Sabra

Pardon the pictures-they were too big, and I didn't feel like correcting them, so if they appear distorted-I am sorry!! I am off to a WARM bed! :O)

The pic above is of the KY river. I was driving, so it is not the best! ;O) This is the Clays Ferry Bridge for any of you who are familiar.

Again, I was driving...hard to take a picture while you are driving?! :O)

The trees look like they are bowing down to the ice/snow!

Unbelievable amounts of ice!!

Trees are broken everywhere like this! We don't have many trees in our yard, but, there are a couple that look like this!

Trees all over the roads made it terrible to get around!

Our Blue Spruce was encased in ice!!

The trees lining our driveway...

So beautiful.....

A bit of warmth!

Well, today, the temperature squeeked up to 60 degrees!!  We were soooooo thrilled to feel the tiniest bit of warmth in the air!  We got so excited, we delayed "Quiet time", and had a little bike time!  It was a blast watching the kids ride around on their bikes on the driveway! They had the best time!

Caleb got his new bicycle for Christmas, and was excited to be able to try it out!  He did have a bit of a tough time pedaling-too hard for him!  Ha ha!

Such complete concentration on his face
(notice the different bike).

Of course, with Caleb, there were a few frustrating moments....

But, nothing little sister couldn't make all better!

Maya was zipping all around Caleb and Sofia!! She will be ready to get rid of those training wheels by summer! :O)

She was Going.....

& Coming....

 Then there is Sofia....

Who tried her hardest to try out that new bike!  Sadly, her feet just didn't reach the pedals...but, if they had....

She would have driven circles all around those other two!!

So, instead, she ran around the front yard befriending our concrete dog...

and being her silly self.... :O)  (Ain't she cute?)

All in all, it was an amazing day, and we were thankful for the one day of wonderful weather!  Of course, then there is tomorrow... where it is going to be in the 30's....
:O(
Oh, well!!

FFF-"New"

Maya got a new vest for Christmas, and she LOVES it!  She had it on today, so I took her outside for a quick little picture!  It is toooooooo cold...so we weren't out long!  :O)  I can't get over how big she has gotten!  She is getting so tall!

Here she is giving me her little stinker smile!  Or, should I say sassy?!!   ;O)  Such a DIVA!!

FFF-Eyes-Through the Eyes of a child....

This week our FFF is "Eyes". I decided to interpret this as "through the eyes" of a child.

Wednesday night Maya asked me to paint her finger nails. So I painted her lovely nails a beautiful shade of hot pink. Hannah plopped down beside me next, and I painted Hannah's lovely nails a crazy shade of blue/green. I also painted Sofia's nails hot pink, and she loved them! Well, the girls were running all around the living room showing off their beautiful finger nails, and Caleb came over and sat down next to me and stuck his hands out, and said"Paint mine". As I felt the beaming "eyes" of Bus looking upon me, I explained to Caleb that only girls get their nails painted. He didn't say anything, kind of just got down and played for a few minutes. Then he came back, and asked me to paint them again. After a few times of explaining it to him, I finally broke down and painted one toe nail the blue green color, so that he didn't feel left out! It was a hard thing to explain to him, as he really didn't see why he couldn't get his nails painted. Not to mention, the girls nails looked good to him! ;O)
He ran all around the room saying, "Isn't it cute?" Poor Bus...it was hilarious!

Favorite Foto Friday-Cold!!

"Baby it's COLD outside!!!!!"  Freezing would be the better words!  It was soooo cold yesterday it went right through you!!
No snow down here, Sarah, either! ;O)  But, I have some oldies of the kids in the snow, too!  The funny part is, the kids HATED the snow last year, but, can't wait to "make snow angels" this year! If we get a chance, we'll see how they do-but, my bet is it will be too cold, again! Hee hee!!

These pics were from last year-March, I think??

Here is Caleb-his face says it all! :O)
Sofia was confused~wondering why we weren't
getting in the car??

Maya was just happy that I brought the camera~You can never take enough pictures of this girl! ;O)
Can't find any of Hannah~she wasn't too thrilled, either!

**STAY WARM, and have a great week!**

First post of 2009-Bowling!!

Well, it was Friday, and I was suppose to do a Favorite Foto of 2008 post, but, when I tried to find a Favorite foto, I couldn't pick just one!!  I even thought about doing a review of 2008, but, had a horrible time picking under 4 for each month!!  A lot of decision anxiety!!!  So, I decided to just post some new pictures taken in 2009.

Because school starts back Monday, and this was our last day of Winter/Christmas break, we decided to take the kids bowling-a first for Maya, Caleb, & Sofia!  They LOVED it!!  Who knew they made such tiny bowling shoes?? :O)

Maya was a natural, and did great!

Caleb ran as fast as he could, and then would throw the ball!  It was hilarious as it bounced loudly and then slowly went down the lane!

He still had his moments, as he didn't want to take turns, and it drove him crazy waiting for his turn-look at that pouty little face!

Hannah had great form-she had a great time showing her little siblings how to bowl!

Look what happened to her! Notice the stuck ball between the gutter & the bumper :O)

Of course, Hannah couldn't resist giving Caleb a few pointers..

Sofia found bowling to be a blast!

She especially loved the snack break of french fries!

Maya also loved the french fries-here is a picture of her with a french fry smile!

Sofia even had a hard time letting her fries go, to bowl!

(Love those tiny little bowling shoes!!)

Sofia was very sad we had to go-but, don't worry Sofia, we will go again, someday! :O)
