Great Memorial Day weekend, and some pictures, too!

Well, we had a fabulous Memorial Day, and hopefully you did too! The weather has been perfect, and we spent the weekend in the pool! We discovered Sofia loves the pool, as well. She kicks and smacks the water-her very own giant bath tub! Caleb chatters because he thinks the water is cold, but Sofia just loves it-must be those chunky little milk thighs! We also have a small baby pool, that Caleb plays in-I thought this would be nice for when Maya comes home-they can play in it together! The big pool will have to be for when we can all be in helping each other! Life is just kicking along, and there is so many things coming up-we are still waiting to hear when our trip for Maya's pickup will be, so stay tuned! I try to post pictures when I can, but it is hard to do when I am changing diapers, doing laundry, making meals,.....I think you know what I mean. Ha ha! Bear with me-who knew one more child could make life so busy!

Here are a few pictures to let you see what is going on here at the Maslin's household!

Still settling in!

We have been home for two weeks now. We are all still settling in-doing pretty good, but Sofia is still not sleeping well. Pray for us about this-we really want her to sleep a little more restfully. She is quite fussy in her sleep, and wants to eat twice a night even when we feed her cereal before bedtime! YIKES!! This little one loves to eat!!

Sofia is adjusting well, and loves people! She is very friendly, and easy going! She has smiles for everyone she meets! We just love her personality!

Her favorite activity outside of eating, and bathing is playing with her big sister and little brother! She just adores them, and loves their every move! Hannah can hardly wait to come down in the morning and see if Sofia is awake so she can hold her!

I am still trying to figure out how to make dinner, keep the laundry up, and house cleaned, and take care of a baby and Caleb! So, if you call, leave a message-I may not always be able to get to the phone! Ha ha! The good news is, Sofia's done with her antibiotic, so the dirty diapers will appear a little less!
Here are a few pics of what is going on at our house! Enjoy!

We are home!

Yes, and we are so thankful to be home! All is finally well, and we are starting to settle in! When we traveled on Friday, Sofia was VERY sick! We recongized that she had an ear infection, and were able to get her to the pediatrician Saturday morning! After the doctor put her on a second antibiotic this past week, she has started to smile again! We were beginning to think we had brought home the wrong child-as her little smile was missing! Now, it is back, and in full force!!
Now, if only we could get her sleep schedule worked out! She wakes up at 12 am, 2 am and 4 am! We are giving her a bit of time to adjust before we ferberize her!! Oh, how we miss our sleep!! Ha ha!

Going back a bit, we did go to Antigua on Thursday. We had a wonderful time, and enjoyed hanging out with Jacobo, our wonderful tour guide! We went to a market-but didn't stay long, it was very busy, and overwhelming! We also toured a coffee plantation! It was interesting, but a bit boring! ZZZZzzzzz.... Anyway, we then went to lunch at a great little restraunt that we actually went to the last time we were in Antigua! They serve great sandwiches, and desserts! We had the greatest Tres Leches cake! I have to find a great recipe for this-it was so yummy! My sandwich was quite interesting, and I am wondering if it is what "food poisened" me in the end! It was homemade bread with garlic/basil spreadable cheese, and a tomato/basil relish. There was a cucumber salad on the side! Sounds great-just wondering if it was the culprit that took me down on Saturday! Both Bus and I were deathly sick on Saturday and Sunday, and really didn't start to feel better till we started antibiotics! Now, we are on the go again!

When we returned to the hotel on Thurday, after our trip to Antigua-everyone was waiting for us! Sonia, from our agency, was waiting with our visa to bring Miss Sofia into the US, and Lidia-our foster mom had arrived an hour earlier, to pick up Maya! So, everything was crazy there for awhile, but we worked it all out, and now we are snuggled back in our own home with one more Guatemalan Maslin!!

Sofia has already had her second doctor visit, and she is a healthy 18 pound 10 ounce 6 month old! this is pretty big for a Guatemalan baby! She has the chubbiest little thighs I have ever seen! Ha ha!

Everybody is asking how Caleb is handling the new baby. Well, he is doing amazingly well! He loves her! He has been so sweet to her, and has only bonked her in the head once with a toy-so far. Don't get me wrong-he still likes to be first, and he wants to be held by his mommy and daddy.

We are doing great, and are looking forward to having Maya home with us, as well! Please keep her case in your prayers, as we are ready to have our family complete!

Here are a some more pictures-Enjoy!
